Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Patagonia hostel, nestled in the picturesque Playa Bonita, I found myself immersed in both nature and an intriguing local culture. The location is undoubtedly one of the highlights, offering stunning views of the lake and easy access to a myriad of activities such as hiking and kayaking. The shared kitchen was well-stocked, making it convenient to prepare their own meals, and the complimentary homemade bread at breakfast added a charming touch. The living room and kitchen areas served as pleasant social spots, which encouraged interaction amongst guests. The shared bathroom’s design, lacking proper locks and staying slightly ajar, could create some discomfort in a communal setting. What truly enhances the experience is the welcoming nature of the staff and volunteers, who help facilitate activities like the asado on Tuesday nights—an enjoyable culinary experience showcasing authentic Argentinian cuisine. While the beds were comfortable and the atmosphere relaxed, I would advise potential guests to consider the overall value—perhaps opting for a stay here for a brief retreat rather than a prolonged visit.
